The following incipits briefly describe each of the areas of my musicological activity. For more details of my work in any of these disciplines, please follow the link at the end of the relevant section.

I write my own programme notes for most of my recitals and have also been regularly commissioned to provide such notes for many orchestral concerts.  I have, therefore, an extensive library of programme notes, which range in length from approximately 250 to 2000 words.  My work also appears in the CD booklets of my recordings for EM Records: EMR CD001, EMR CD003, EMR CD006, EMR CD011, EMR CD018, EMR CD019–20, and EMR CD023.

During my musicological research, I have authored papers and articles for the Arthur Bliss Society, the British Music Society, the English Music Festival, and G. Henle Verlag of Munich.

On this page are listed all published editions with which I have been involved. Links to further pages are given, each of which is dedicated to a particular publication and which incorporates full details, including the ISMN and a short paragraph about the edition.

Several new editions are in preparation and details will be posted on this page as soon as they become available. If you would like to be kept informed of my forthcoming projects, please email me at

On this page are given outlines of some of my recent presentations and seminars, and which I have given at a number of Universities and Conservatoires, including Birmingham Conservatoire, The British Library, the University of Bristol, Cambridge University, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

PowerPoint presentations of extracts from each seminar will shortly be available.
